What Is the Unicorn Facial?

The unicorn facial uses WiQo P-Solution — the PRX-T33 formula developed in Italy — as a topical biorevitalization peel. Unlike a traditional chemical peel, PRX-T33 stimulates collagen and skin quality deep in the dermis without the visible peeling, frosting, or downtime associated with conventional TCA peels.

The name reflects what was once considered difficult in aesthetic medicine: meaningful improvements in skin tone, texture, and firmness without the downtime of more aggressive resurfacing treatments — no needles, no visible peeling, and no recovery period.

Three Active Ingredients

  • Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) at 33%: penetrates the dermis and stimulates fibroblast activity, increasing collagen and elastin production for improved firmness.
  • Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2): modulates TCA activity at the surface, reducing visible frosting and allowing PRX-T33 to stimulate skin with less epidermal disruption than a traditional TCA peel.
  • Kojic acid: a brightening agent that inhibits melanin production, helping reduce hyperpigmentation and improve complexion.

This chemistry is what makes PRX-T33 different from a standard TCA peel. The hydrogen peroxide acts as a buffer — preventing the acid from coagulating the epidermis and allowing it to work on deeper layers with less surface disruption.

How the Procedure Works

The unicorn facial is applied topically — no injections, no devices. Skin is cleansed with a pH-stabilizing solution, PRX-T33 is massaged in section by section (two to five layers depending on the concern), and WiQo moisturizing cream is applied after to restore the skin’s hydrolipidic film. The full session takes 15 to 20 minutes for face and neck.

Patients typically describe the sensation as similar to a deep tissue massage with mild stinging — this is expected and not harmful. There is no recovery time required after the session.

Results — What to Expect

The unicorn facial produces visible results from the first session. Full benefits develop over a treatment series — early brightness and smoothness appear quickly, while firmness and texture continue to improve through the protocol.

  1. Immediately

    Brighter, smoother skin

Skin looks brighter, feels smoother and firmer. Mild redness resolves within hours.

  2. Days 1–7

    Possible light flaking

Light surface flaking in some patients — much milder than a traditional peel. Most experience none.

  3. 2–3 months

    Collagen remodeling

Ongoing collagen remodeling continues beneath the surface after the series is complete.

  4. Months after

    Sustained quality

Results vary by skin condition, protocol adherence, home care, and maintenance schedule.

  5. Maintenance

    Every 6 months

1–2 sessions every six months recommended to sustain benefits long-term.

A standard series at Desert Bloom is 4 treatments. PRX Derm-Perfection runs once a week for 4 weeks; PRX Plus is every 2 weeks for 4 sessions total. WiQo moisturizing cream is provided post-session for aftercare.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes PRX-T33 different from a traditional TCA peel?
A traditional chemical peel damages the epidermis to trigger healing, resulting in visible peeling and days of downtime. PRX-T33 includes hydrogen peroxide as a buffer that limits epidermal injury while allowing TCA to stimulate collagen production deeper in the dermis — collagen benefits without the heavy peeling or frosting of a conventional TCA peel.
How many sessions do I need and how are they spaced?
A standard series is 4 treatments. PRX Derm-Perfection is performed once a week for 4 weeks. PRX Plus is performed every 2 weeks for 4 sessions total. Your provider will recommend which protocol fits your skin condition and goals.
Can PRX-T33 be combined with other treatments?
PRX-T33 may be part of a broader skin-quality plan, but it is not automatically combined with every resurfacing or collagen-stimulation treatment. Your provider will recommend spacing or alternatives based on your skin barrier, recent procedures, and tolerance.
Is PRX-T33 safe for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI)?
PRX-T33 is generally considered suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I through VI) because hydrogen peroxide limits epidermal injury. Individual risk for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and sensitivity is assessed during consultation. Unlike traditional TCA peels, it is not photosensitizing and has no seasonal restrictions.
Can I treat areas other than the face?
Yes. PRX-T33 is also used on the neck, decolletage, hands, and body for stretch marks, skin laxity, and quality improvement. The session length and number of layers are adjusted to the treatment area.
Why is PRX-T33 not the right choice for acne scars?
PRX-T33 stimulates collagen broadly across the dermis but does not produce the focused remodeling needed to remodel atrophic acne scars. For acne scarring, Desert Bloom recommends Bellafill subcision-and-fill or Erbium laser resurfacing instead. The unicorn facial is better suited for dullness, uneven tone, mild texture, fine lines, pores, and early laxity.

“Absolute pros. I came in with multiple facial concerns that come with aging, and they handled everything with professionalism and precision. The treatment was straightforward, effective, and got me looking refreshed fast without overdoing it. The products they recommended genuinely supported the results. Highly recommend for men who want real improvements, not gimmicks.”

“Looking for someone who cares, who is incredibly knowledgeable and will also make you look and feel like your best self…. Dr. Natalya is a master at her craft and it shows with her results. I had a non-surgical facelift and astounded by what you can accomplish without going under the knife. Her skill with reshaping the lips has been the most dramatic and yet subtle enhancement and the facial threads are probably the most noticeable and intriguing procedures because you see the results evolve over time. I also appreciated and loved that she informed me of things I didn’t know better on with my skin care routine , so I could have better home care practices. I am incredibly happy with the results, the entire process of the care I received and the knowledge and wisdom she shared to help me achieve this glow up. Picture on the left was right after treatment and picture on right is a couple of months after treatment!”
