Your Skin Deserves a Deeper Clean

Scottsdale’s dry desert air, sun exposure, and daily environmental debris clog pores and leave your face looking dull and dehydrated — and a regular facial can’t always reach what’s underneath. HydraFacial is a non-invasive, in-office treatment that cleanses, extracts, and hydrates your skin in a single 30-minute session. Most patients notice a visible difference right away, with no downtime and no recovery.

HydraFacial is one of several facial treatments at Desert Bloom, alongside DiamondGlow, dermaplaning, and custom chemical peels. Explore the full facial treatment options.

What Is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a non-invasive facial treatment performed with the HydraFacial MD device by BeautyHealth, using the patented Vortex-Fusion system that works in four steps to cleanse, extract, and hydrate your skin simultaneously.

HydraFacial Vortex-Fusion mechanism — simultaneous extraction and serum infusion diagram

The 4 steps:

  1. Cleanse & Exfoliate — removes dead skin cells and surface debris to purify the skin
  2. Acid Peel — a gentle glycolic and salicylic acid blend loosens congestion and helps with blemishes and uneven pigmentation
  3. Extract — vortex suction draws out impurities and clears pores without manual pressure
  4. Hydrate & Infuse — peptides, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants are infused to improve texture and vibrancy

Each session takes 30 minutes. Most patients feel ready to return to their normal routine immediately after the treatment. HydraFacial MD can generally be adapted for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI), including many patients with sensitive skin.

Desert Bloom uses the Dermabuilder booster serum — a peptide-focused booster selected to support the appearance of smoother, firmer-looking skin — as part of its standard infusion step.

HydraFacial Benefits for Your Skin

With regular HydraFacial sessions, patients often notice smoother texture, modestly softened fine lines, reduced comedonal congestion, improved hydration, and more even skin tone.

Hydrated glowing skin after HydraFacial — refined texture and natural radiance

Results are gradual and typically best with ongoing treatments. Many patients notice a visible improvement after one session; a series of 3 may be recommended for more specific concerns such as persistent congestion or uneven skin tone.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

HydraFacial is well-suited for individuals with mild to moderate skin dullness, early signs of photodamage, non-inflammatory comedonal congestion, oily or combination skin, or those seeking gentle maintenance before an event. It is appropriate for all skin types, including sensitive or reactive skin that does not tolerate medium-to-deep chemical peels or abrasive exfoliation.

For patients with more advanced sun damage or textural concerns, your provider may recommend microneedling or custom chemical peels instead.

Our staff will pay close attention to your skin’s individual needs during your appointment. We offer personalized steps and boosters designed to address your specific concerns — whether that’s hydration, clarity, or texture.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

HydraFacial is appropriate for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI)

  • Mild to moderate skin dullness or dehydration
  • Early signs of photodamage
  • Comedonal congestion or enlarged pores
  • Sensitive or reactive skin that does not tolerate chemical peels
  • Pre-event skin preparation
  • Fine lines and uneven texture
  • All skin types including dry, oily, combination, and mature
When HydraFacial Is NOT the Right Option
HydraFacial should generally be avoided in cases of:
• Active pustular or cystic acne
• Unstable or inflamed rosacea
• Untreated couperose (persistent telangiectasia)
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless cleared by your medical provider and aesthetician, because certain acids or booster ingredients may not be appropriate

We recommend discussing any skin concerns with your aesthetician before booking.

HydraFacial vs DiamondGlow

HydraFacial relies on chemical exfoliation and gentle vortex extraction — best for patients with a variety of skin concerns including hydration needs, mild congestion, or sensitive skin. DiamondGlow uses diamond-tipped mechanical exfoliation and may be preferred for thicker, more resilient skin or more pronounced textural irregularities and superficial scarring.

Your provider can help you choose the best option. We also offer custom chemical peels and microneedling as alternatives, depending on your skin’s needs.

Frequently asked questions

What is a HydraFacial? A HydraFacial is a non-invasive, in-office facial treatment using the HydraFacial MD device to cleanse, extract, and hydrate your skin in four steps. It uses the patented Vortex-Fusion technology to deliver active serums — including peptides and hyaluronic acid — directly into the skin, addressing a variety of concerns from dullness to congested pores.
How much does a HydraFacial cost? The HydraFacial at Desert Bloom is $149 for the Basic treatment (30 minutes, all four core steps). LED light therapy and lymphatic drainage are available as add-ons for $35 each. Book your appointment online or call us for current offers.
Is there any downtime? No downtime. Most patients return to daily activities immediately. Your aesthetician may recommend keeping the skin clean and makeup-free for the rest of the day, depending on your skin sensitivity. Some notice mild, temporary redness that resolves within a few hours.
How often should I get a HydraFacial? For best results, monthly sessions (every 4–6 weeks) are recommended. A series of 3 treatments may help improve specific concerns such as congested pores or uneven skin tone.
What skin types benefit from HydraFacial? All skin types — dry, oily, combination, sensitive, and mature. HydraFacial MD can generally be adapted across Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI), with settings and boosters selected around each patient’s specific needs and concerns.
Can I combine HydraFacial with other treatments? We recommend scheduling dermaplaning and HydraFacial in separate sessions. HydraFacial includes a chemical exfoliation step (glycolic and salicylic acid), and combining physical exfoliation with chemical exfoliation in the same visit can be too much for most skin types. Alternating visits — HydraFacial one month, dermaplaning the next — is a good care approach for many patients.
How is it different from a regular facial? HydraFacial uses a patented device for consistent, repeatable results. Vortex extraction is gentler than manual extraction and delivers active serums simultaneously — something a traditional facial cannot do. The steps are standardized, so you know exactly what your skin receives each visit.
What does HydraFacial feel like? Most patients feel a gentle pulling and cool sensation as the device moves across the face. It is well-tolerated and comfortable, even for sensitive skin types.
