Facials

Hydrating and refining protocols, acne-clarifying treatments, and targeted skin-health sessions — performed by our licensed aesthetician team under Dr. Natalya Borakowski, NMD.

Who delivers these treatments

All facial treatments at Desert Bloom Skincare are performed by our licensed aesthetician team. Protocols are developed and clinically supervised by Dr. Natalya Borakowski, NMD — a licensed naturopathic physician with 17+ years of experience in aesthetic medicine. Dr. B oversees the protocols, and our licensed aesthetician team adapts them consistently regardless of who is on the schedule that day.

A facial at Desert Bloom is a protocol — a sequence of cleansing, exfoliation, active delivery, and finishing steps — chosen for your skin type, barrier condition, and what the Arizona climate is doing to your skin that week. Below is the full catalog, grouped by what each protocol is designed to do.

If a specific concern is driving your visit — pigmentation, scarring, sensitivity, redness — the better starting point is Treatments by Concern, which routes across facials, lasers, and injectables. This page is the method-side catalog of facial sessions and what each one is built to do.

Hydrating & Glow

Restore moisture, calm Arizona-dry skin, and bring back everyday luminosity. Wellness-leaning protocols without resurfacing downtime — a starting point for dehydrated, dull, or barrier-stressed skin.

HydraFacial

Our signature hydradermabrasion sequence — cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and infuse in one session. The protocol most clients try first.

HydroGlass Facial

A lighter glass-skin glow protocol designed for events and minimal-downtime windows — finish, hydration, and a barrier-friendly active layer.

Pure Oxygen Soothing Facial

Calming oxygen infusion for sensitized, reactive, or compromised skin barriers — a quieter session when the skin needs to be settled, not stimulated.

Organic Signature Facial

The Desert Bloom house protocol — organic actives, customized to your skin type and current condition during the in-clinic assessment.

Flawless Skin Facial

Iontophoresis plus sonophoresis — active delivery using mild current and sound waves to drive serums deeper than topical application reaches.

Refining & Resurfacing

Smooth texture, even tone, and refresh tired skin with peel-based or mechanical exfoliation. A tier above gentle hydration — strength and acid blend are selected during the in-clinic assessment.

Custom Chemical Peel

Practitioner-selected peel strength and acid blend matched to your skin — chosen during the in-clinic assessment, not pre-set on a menu.

Unicorn Facial (PRX-T33)

A PRX-T33 bio-revitalizing sequence for tone-evening and brightening without traditional peeling downtime.

Dermaplaning

Manual exfoliation paired with a HydroPeptide finishing protocol — smoother surface texture and makeup-ready skin without chemical resurfacing.

Microneedling

Collagen-induction therapy with topical serums — a refinement protocol for texture, tone, and fine surface concerns.

Acne & Clarifying

Calm active breakouts, decongest pores, and support adolescent skin. Protocols built for acne-prone and oily skin patterns — adult and teen — where cycle, downtime, and home care matter most.

Detox Acne Treatment

Deep cleanse, extractions, and a calming finish — built for adult acne and congested skin where surface inflammation needs to come down before anything else.

Teen Facial

An adolescent-skin protocol with age-appropriate actives and an honest home-care conversation — most teen visits end with a routine reset, not a one-and-done session.

If you’re more concerned about scarring left behind by past breakouts than active acne itself, see Acne Scars treatments — a different routing path that includes resurfacing and regenerative options.

Specialty & Targeted

Protocols built for specific areas or mechanisms outside the standard facial sequence — body skin, muscle re-education, or other targeted approaches.

Back Facial

Decongestion and clearing protocol for body skin — back, chest, and shoulders. Useful before events, after travel, or as part of routine skin-health maintenance.

Microcurrent Facial

Low-level current muscle re-education protocol for tone and a lifted look between longer treatment cycles. A maintenance-style session, not a structural intervention.

Not Sure Where to Start?

A short orientation that points you toward a group, not a specific service. The actual recommendation is made during your in-clinic skin assessment with our team.

If none of those lines describe what brought you here, the consultation is the right next step — and a consultation does not commit you to any treatment.

A facial may not be the right entry point for everyone.

If you’re treating a specific concern (sagging, deep lines, pigmentation, scarring), the better path is usually Treatments by Concern. If you want to compare methods across facials, lasers, injectables, and energy devices, start at Medical Aesthetics.

Frequently asked questions

Which facial should I start with at Desert Bloom? It depends on what your skin is doing right now. As a soft orientation: dry, tight, or dull skin → start with the Hydrating & Glow group. Texture, fine lines, or uneven tone → look at Refining & Resurfacing. Active breakouts or congested skin → Acne & Clarifying. Body skin, between-visit maintenance, or targeted tone work → Specialty & Targeted. The actual recommendation is made during your in-clinic skin assessment.
How are facials customized to my skin? Every session begins with an in-clinic skin assessment — skin type, hydration, barrier integrity, current sensitivity. The protocol — products, peel strength if any, intensity, finishing steps — is then selected for that day. Two clients booked for the same named facial may receive different actives because their skin needs different things in that moment.
Who performs facial treatments at Desert Bloom? All facial treatments at Desert Bloom Skincare are performed by a licensed aesthetician on our team, working under the medical oversight of Dr. Natalya Borakowski, NMD. Each protocol is developed and supervised by Dr. B, which keeps the treatment quality consistent regardless of who administers the session that day.
How often should I get a facial in Scottsdale’s climate? For most skin types, every four to six weeks supports barrier health in the Arizona climate, where low humidity and sun exposure are constant stressors. Acne-prone skin may benefit from a tighter cycle while a flare is being brought under control, then settles into a longer cadence. Your aesthetician will give you a specific cadence after the first assessment.
Can I combine a facial with other treatments like Botox, fillers, or lasers in one visit? Sometimes, but not by default. Some facials pair well with same-day injectables or lasers; others should be spaced out to protect the skin barrier. The order of treatments in a combined visit also matters. Mention a combined visit when you book so we can sequence it correctly with Dr. Borakowski’s input.

Not Sure Which Facial Fits Your Skin?

A complimentary consultation at Desert Bloom starts with an in-clinic skin assessment — products, intensity, and the right facial group are recommended based on what your skin actually needs, not on a pre-set menu.
