Risks and Side Effects

As with any ablative laser procedure, CoolPeel carries a small risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), particularly in patients with Fitzpatrick types IV–VI — which is why these skin types are not candidates for CO2 laser at Desert Bloom. Infection risk is low but real; patients with a history of herpes simplex (cold sores) are prescribed antiviral medication before treatment.
