Common questions before booking

How long does an Elluminate Mini session take?
About 30 minutes of chair time. Plan ~45 minutes total when you factor in cleansing, eye shields, and aftercare.
Is there any downtime?
None required. Mild pink for a few hours, similar to a light sunburn. Most patients apply makeup and return to normal activities the same day.
How many sessions will I need?
Three to six sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart for the full benefit, then monthly maintenance. Single sessions are great for an event glow.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. The Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelength has low melanin affinity and is well tolerated across Fitzpatrick I–VI. Used as a glow treatment, not for pigment.
How much does it cost?
$275 per session, or a package of 5 for $1,075 ($215/session). Not covered by insurance.

What Is the Elluminate Mini Laser Facial?

What Is the Elluminate Mini Laser Facial? — Laser facial at Desert Bloom Skincare Scottsdale

Elluminate Mini is a non-ablative Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser facial that warms the dermis to stimulate fibroblasts and collagen without breaking the skin’s surface. There is no peeling, no crusting, and no required downtime — most patients leave with an immediate glow and return to normal activities the same day.

Unlike ablative resurfacing — CO2 or erbium, which physically remove the outer layer of skin — the Mini works gently beneath the surface. It is one of the most accessible ways to refresh tone, refine pores, and ease diffuse redness without the recovery of a true resurfacing procedure. If you have never tried a professional laser, or you want to maintain results between deeper treatments, this is usually where we begin.

How the 1064 nm Wavelength Works

1064 nm Nd:YAG laser facial in progress at Desert Bloom Skincare, Scottsdale

The Nd:YAG 1064 nm beam passes through the epidermis and is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin in small dermal vessels and by water in the surrounding tissue. That controlled heat triggers a wound-healing cascade — fibroblast activation, neocollagenesis, and a measurable reduction in diffuse redness — while leaving the surface intact. Because 1064 nm has low melanin affinity, it is well tolerated across all Fitzpatrick skin types.

Most patients describe a mild warmth during treatment — comfortable and well tolerated. Topical numbing is available but rarely needed. Results continue to develop in the weeks after each session as new collagen organises beneath the surface.

Why Choose Desert Bloom for Elluminate Mini

Dr. Natalya Borakowski NMD at Desert Bloom Skincare Scottsdale

Every Mini session at Desert Bloom is performed on an FDA-cleared Quanta platform with precise energy control, and every plan is shaped by Dr. Natalya Borakowski, NMD after a full skin assessment. We are a clinical aesthetics practice — not a volume-driven med spa — so your protocol is matched to your skin, your Fitzpatrick type, and your goals, not a one-size template.

“Elluminate Mini is a no-downtime glow treatment using the deep 1064 wavelength. It stimulates blood flow to the dermis, improves microcirculation, calms inflammation, and supports collagen — safely, in all skin types, Fitzpatrick I through VI.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Elluminate Mini the same as an IPL photo facial?
No. The Mini uses a single Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelength, which heats the dermis and targets vascular structures. An IPL photo facial uses broadband light tuned to pigment + vessels and is restricted to Fitzpatrick I–III. The Mini is the better choice if you have redness or want a glow treatment in darker skin.
Can the Mini replace Botox or filler?
No — it works on a different layer. Mini improves skin quality (tone, redness, fine lines, glow) but does not address muscle movement (Botox/Dysport) or volume loss (filler). Most patients combine: Botox + filler for structure, Mini for skin quality.
How soon before a wedding or event should I book?
Two to four weeks out for a single session, so post-treatment pink has fully settled and the collagen response is visible. For a meaningful change, start a 3-session series 8–12 weeks before the event.
Does it hurt? Is numbing needed?
Most patients describe a mild warm tapping sensation — comfortable and well tolerated. Topical numbing cream is available on request but is rarely needed for the Mini.
How does Mini compare to Elluminate Glow?
Mini is a non-ablative glow treatment with no downtime. Elluminate Glow is ablative laser resurfacing — it reaches deeper, addresses true texture and scarring, and requires 5–14 days of recovery. Mini refreshes; Glow rebuilds.
Can I combine Mini with other treatments the same day?
Yes — Mini pairs well with HydraFacial, light chemical peels, and injectables (usually scheduled 1–2 weeks apart from filler/Botox so swelling does not interfere with assessment). Dr. Borakowski will sequence everything during your consultation.

“I will always recommend Desert Bloom to anyone who wants quality skin care. I got a facial before my wedding and my skin was glowing on my wedding day! I also take my daughter who has teenage acne break outs, and Natalya always does an excellent job. Most recently, my mom was able to receive a very innovative treatment with the PLASMA PEN! In her case, this was to treat wrinkles around her eyes. Natalya did an AMAZING job. The entire experience was so great. Natalya recommends the best course of action for your particular skin concerns, explains the science behind how it works, and walks you step by step through the process. I can't speak highly enough of Desert Bloom Skin Care. You will feel pampered, you will feel CARED for, and you will see results!! I'm SO happy I found this place!”
