Real Outcomes, Documented Honestly
Most clinics show their best photo. We publish the full case — patient profile, treatment plan, what worked, and what we discussed honestly along the way. These are not curated marketing wins. They are documented patient journeys at Desert Bloom in Scottsdale, AZ.
At a Glance
Documented patient case studies from Desert Bloom Skincare. Each case includes patient profile, clinical reasoning, treatment plan, and timeline-stamped outcomes. All cases reviewed and authored by Dr. Natalya Borakowski, NMD. Currently featuring 3 thread-lift cases — additional procedures (filler, laser, skin quality) coming soon.
Why We Publish Case Studies
The aesthetic industry has a credibility problem. Before-and-after galleries show a single flattering angle, often retouched, almost always without context. A patient looking at those photos has no way to know whether the result will hold at six months, what the consultation looked like, or whether a different procedure might have served them better.
Our case studies exist to fix that. Each one walks through the consultation, the clinical reasoning, the treatment plan, and the outcome — including realistic expectations and what the procedure cannot do. We include patient profile (age, anatomy, primary concern), the alternatives we considered, and time-stamped progress photos where available. If the case had a complication or a moment where Dr. Borakowski recommended a different approach, that goes in too.
This is how evidence-based aesthetic medicine should look in public. Not curated highlights — documented outcomes.
Featured Case Studies
The cases below focus on PDO and PLLA thread-lift procedures across three distinct patient profiles — early facial fatigue, structural jawline refinement, and mature neck rejuvenation. Additional case studies (filler, laser, complexion improvement, non-surgical brow and rhinoplasty) are in clinical review and will be added as they publish.
Thread Lift for Facial Fatigue — 6-Month Outcome
Patient: Female, 37, Caucasian. Primary concern: A persistent tired, flat appearance that did not match how refreshed she felt internally. Treatment: PLLA/PCL absorbable threads. Outcome: Immediate mechanical lift followed by progressive collagen stimulation — clearest improvement at the six-month mark.

Non-Surgical Jawline Contouring with Threads
Patient: Female, 43, Hispanic. Primary concern: Loss of jawline definition with early submental softening. Wanted structural refinement, not added volume. Treatment: PDO threads, jawline-targeted technique. Outcome: Subtle, natural-looking definition without filler or surgical change.

Structural Lower Face Lift & Neck Rejuvenation
Patient: Female, 69, professionally active physician. Primary concern: Sagging neck skin and loss of jawline definition — wanted to align her external appearance with her internal vitality without surgery. Treatment: PLLA threads as a submental sling for collagen stimulation and structural support. Outcome: Restored jawline definition with a subtle lower face lift effect.

More Cases In Clinical Review
The following case studies are documented and currently in clinical review. They will be added to this page as they publish:
- Gradual Facial Refinement — multi-modal aesthetic plan over time, prioritizing natural progression over single-procedure transformation.
- Long-Term Complexion Improvement — skin quality protocol with measured outcomes across pigmentation, texture, and tone.
- Non-Surgical Brow Repositioning — combined approach to upper-face balance without surgical lift.
- Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty — filler-based nasal contouring for subtle structural correction.
How Our Case Studies Are Documented
Each case study at Desert Bloom follows the same documentation standard. This is what separates a case study from a marketing photo:
- Patient consent and privacy. Every case is published with explicit written consent. Patient identities are anonymized — we share age, ethnicity, and clinically relevant context, not names. Patients can request removal at any time.
- Standardized photography. Same lighting, same camera distance, same angles before and after. No retouching, no filters. Where lighting differs, we say so.
- Time-stamped progress. Threads, biostimulators, and collagen-based treatments evolve over months. We document the timeline rather than showing only the peak result.
- Provider commentary. Each case includes Dr. Borakowski’s clinical reasoning — why this procedure, why this technique, what alternatives were considered, and what the consultation discussed honestly.
- Realistic disclosures. Individual results vary. Aesthetic outcomes depend on anatomy, skin quality, lifestyle, and aftercare. We do not promise a result identical to the case shown.

“A case study is not a marketing tool. It is a record of what happened in the consultation room and what happened over the months that followed. If we cannot publish the full picture, we should not publish anything.”
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a case study and a before-and-after photo?
A before-and-after photo shows two images. A case study documents the patient profile, the clinical reasoning, the treatment plan, the timeline of results, and the realistic limitations of the procedure. Case studies give context. Photos alone do not.Are these patients real?
Yes. Every case study published on this page is a real patient treated at Desert Bloom Skincare in Scottsdale. Identities are anonymized — we publish age, ethnicity, and clinically relevant context with explicit written consent. Why are most current cases thread lift procedures?
Thread-lift cases happened to be documented and clinically reviewed first. Additional case studies covering filler, laser, complexion improvement, brow repositioning, and non-surgical rhinoplasty are in review and will be added as they publish. Will my results look like the cases shown?
Individual results vary. Aesthetic outcomes depend on anatomy, skin quality, age, lifestyle, and aftercare. The case studies are documented examples, not guarantees. Dr. Borakowski will discuss realistic outcomes for your specific anatomy during consultation. How can I submit my own results to be featured?
If you are a current Desert Bloom patient interested in being featured, talk to Dr. Borakowski at your next visit. Featured cases require explicit written consent, standardized photography across the treatment timeline, and clinical relevance to a procedure or concern we treat.Do you ever decline to treat a patient?
Yes. A good consultation does not always end with a procedure. If a patient’s anatomy, skin quality, or goals are better served by surgery — or by no treatment at all — Dr. Borakowski will say so directly. That candor is part of what these case studies document.Want to Discuss Your Own Case?
Every consultation at Desert Bloom starts with a complimentary assessment. Dr. Borakowski evaluates your anatomy, discusses your goals, and recommends a treatment plan — including whether the procedures featured here are the right approach for you, or whether a different option better serves your needs.
